L’Oreal Competition shoot for Smooth You Salons

This week I did a great shoot for Smooth You Salon’s L’Oreal competition entry. The stylists are being judged on their cutting and colouring and have to submit images to represent their work.

We had a great team on-board, including my fabulous stylist friend, Rachel Gold. Not only does Rachel always do a fantastic job with her styling but she is always good fun to be around & we always have a giggle! It’s so important to have a good atmosphere on a shoot, as it really helps the fluidity of the day.

Alongside Rachel & the great Smooth You team, we also had an additional make-up artist, Laura Dexter. It was really nice to work with Laura, as we have often worked with the same people but never had the opportunity to meet each other. This often happens with make-up artists, so it was really lovely being able to work with someone who I’d heard so much about! We got on really well and she was a real pleasure to work with.

We had two male models and three females. In terms of make-up, the males simply had to be groomed and we had to ensure their skin looked flawless. With our three ladies, two had to have a twenties inspired look and the third had to represent a “high street” look. Laura looked after the “20’s” look and I created the “high street” entry. I gave her a look that was quite similar to current Topshop collections. The stylist had dyed the models hair a beautiful copper colour so I decided to go with a strong lip, kept the eyes fairly nude and gave her lovely dewy skin.

Unfortunately, as it was for a competition, I’m unable to show you some images of the day but the results were fantastic! Fingers crossed for the Smooth You team! Let’s hope they do really well, as they deserve it 🙂
