Big Deal music video

Here’s a music video I worked a few weeks back for the duo, Big Deal.

We filmed the video in Dalston, London, in a flat filled with lots of amazing artifacts & antiques, including a taxidermy squirral arrangement, dressed as dancing gypsies! It was a bizarre but amazing location to shoot in!

I had to prepare Alice & KC for camera and we also had a prosthetics artist on board to create the cut in KC’s stomach. Alice was keen to keep her usual look, which I also believe is important with music artists. Depending on the genre of course but generally I think you need to keep true to an Artist’s look in order not to alienate their audience. Alice’s make-up was very natural, so I simply gave her a base, created some definition on her cheekbones with highlighting & shading (it did help with her having fantastic cheekbones!!). I did some natural shading in her socket line and defined the brows. I then applied lashings of mascara and a natural coloured lip tint. With her hair, she wanted to keep it natural so I simply added some shine products to give it a little gloss in front of the camera.

With KC, I did a little bit of conceling and simply a bit of powder to make him camara ready. He wanted to keep his hair the way it was so he didn’t look too “made up”.

I think the finished result has a really nice, intimate feeling to it. Hope you enjoy 🙂
